SAP Parent Support offer
My role as the SAP Family Support Worker involves working with partnership schools and their families to develop connections, providing support when challenges arise - resulting in strengthened relationships and building trust.
My focus is on delivering person-centred approach through promoting nurturing responsive relationships in my work with families. Where children present SEMH needs within school or the home environment, I can offer direct support. This may include the provision of Mindful Emotion Coaching sessions to parents and carers, developing skills around emotion literacy in a whole-family approach to wellness.
I can also offer:
- Practical and emotional support to parents and families, in their own homes or within the community
- Relationship building with parents and young people, establishing trust
- Signposting to other services through knowledge of local resources, community and statutory services. This could include Mental Health Teams, Social Services, Health, CAMHS, schools and voluntary services; ensuring effective communication with agencies in the best interests of the child and family.
The SAP team boast a wealth of knowledge in assessing the needs of children and families, reviewing and evaluating provisions made to ensure the work is effective in meeting the support needs outlined in a referral. Safeguarding runs through this work as a golden thread at all times.
To access the SAP Family Support offering, your child's school must make a referral.
Looking forward to meeting parents across our schools
